For the occasional internet user Sky Broadband Base will fit the bill perfectly and if a subscription to Sky Talk is taken out then Sky Broadband Base is free of charge.
It comes with up to 2MB download speeds which doesn't sound all that impressive but for the average user of Sky Broadband Base it will be perfect for everyday surfing and works out to be great value for money.
There is a monthly allowance of 2GB which again is adequate for occasional users but but this low limit should be taken into account if your usage is likely to creep over that. If this is the case it would be wise to consider starting off with the next package up, which is Sky Broadband Everyday but for occasional users the Base package will definitely suffice.
There is also the added benefit of an upload speed of 400Kb which will enable the user to upload photographs and videos etc and will be adequate for the many users of the social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
A free three month trial of McAfee Internet Security Suite is an added incentive to make the decision to opt for the Sky Broadband Base even sweeter and if you are not familiar with McAfee it is one of the best of it's kind and will protect your computer from the many viruses and spyware which could really do some serious damage.
As with all of the sky broadband bundles this one also comes with a Sky wireless router which in effect means that you can share the broadband connection with other users anywhere throughout the house without being tied down by wires cluttering each room.
The particular router that comes with this package retails at around £25 and there is also 24/7 technical support which is invaluable should you come across any problems. This help is available both online and on the telephone.
This broadband offers also includes 10 sky.com email addresses which come with a generous storage space of 10GB. This is enough to ensure that you will never come across the need to delete another email and is very easy to set up, even for someone who has never had an email account before.
There is a £60 installation charge for this package and there are various adds ons that can be included and you are able to choose which ones you require as you go through the ordering process online. The installation date etc is arranged online when making the order and the engineers who carry this out are very quick and efficient.
All in all the Sky Broadband Base is an excellent starter package which will appeal to a wide range of consumers.
