BT Vision offer lots of help on their website for customers experiencing problems or queries relating to their television service, phone or broadband. They offer FAQs for some top issues asked by other people, so that it makes it much easier to find.
A top query includes finding a blank television screen when turning it on from standby. If you experience this, then you can fix it by trying the following:
- Turn off the Vision + box power at the mains.
- Wait 30 seconds and then turn it back on.
- Give the Vision + box time to start up.
- You can then scan the channel list by pressing the BT Vision button on the remote and choosing 'Settings', 'TV Settings', 'Add Channels to TV Guide' and finally 'Scan for channels'.
It should now be fixed, but if you are still having problems then contact BT directly and they will be able to assist you further.
Another top query is how to activate the sports channels. This requires using your card online. You need to do this the day that you receive it.
- Place the viewing card in the arrow’s direction, with the chip upwards, into your Vision + box. It should then say ‘Viewing Card recognised’ on the screen.
- You can then activate your card online via BT’s website.
- Reboot your Vision + box by holding down the power button until it goes red. Turn it back on once it has finished. You can do this by the mains instead, after waiting a few seconds before switching it back on.
- Click 'TV Guide' on the remote control, choosing channel 34 for ESPN, channel 42 for Sky Sports 2, or channel 41 for Sky Sports 1. It usually takes 20 minutes to activate, although it can take longer in some cases. You need to keep tuned into this channel until the card has been activated, which you'll then stat seeing the TV programme being show on screen.
BT offer lots of other answers to a variety of different questions relating to your television service. Their website has further details on this. There is even a forum to ask other BT Vision users for help or advice.
The troubleshooting guide helps to talk you through various problems and solutions to try out. You can check the status of your order online from their website as well, which is a very useful tool. The Vision manuals and guides are also available to download from the site, which offer in-depth advice on how to fix a number of problems. The help videos offer an alternative source of guidance if you prefer visual help, rather than talk through guides. You can also contact BT via their site if you are still having any problems.
